The residential building for assisted living is designed within a sculpture garden on the site of a villa originally planned by sculptor Karel Novák in the first half of the 20th century. The design will serve as the culmination of the landscaped sculpture garden, which the owner has painstakingly restored and maintains based on original photographs.
The area designated for the house is now zoned for the construction of underground garages in accordance with the valid building permit. This is a garden area used for technical facilities. The existing ornamental areas of the garden will not be affected. The building adheres to the street line and preserves space for a potential pedestrian connection between Čiklova and Jaromírova Streets. At the same time, it does not affect the planned traffic connection between Křesomyslova and Čiklova Streets. In terms of height, the building complies with the surrounding development and the applicable Prague Building Regulations regarding building setbacks, so that neighboring structures are not affected.
The project will thus develop the last portion of the lot, and through its function as affordable housing, it will complement the surrounding apartment buildings without disrupting the daily operations or living conditions in the neighboring buildings. The center’s residents will be able to use the garden and community halls alongside the general public. The garden will also be open to the public.
